Things are going from bad to worse for Columbus Short. The Scandal actor is facing a lawsuit from the man he bloodied in a bar fight earlier this year, after an out-of-court settlement between the two men fell through.
Short is being sued for medical expenses and pain and suffering from the victim after the actor reneged on a proposed lump sum settlement, claiming financial hardship. The actor recently announced he will not be returning for season four of Scandal, prompting speculation that he was let go by Shonda Rhimes due to his legal and marital woes.
The actor is also in the midst of an ugly divorce battle with his ex-wife, Tanee McCall-Short, who filed a restraining order against him after a violent row.
But Short isn't the only one who's hurting in the pocketbook. His fellow actor Mekhi Phifer just filed for bankruptcy, TMZ reports, claiming $1.3 million in debt and just $67,000 in assets. The Divergent actor says in legal documents that he has $11,600 in monthly expenses but pulls in just $7,500 in income.
Among his assets are a leather bed, a vintage Segway and several firearms.
