SNL Hunts Down Beyoncé Haters With the Beygency
Ever wonder what happens to the Beyoncé haters? They get scooped up by the Beygency, erased from society and eventually forced to bow down to the powers of Blue Ivy Carter's mommy.
At least this is the storyline SNL made up in a digital short that aired during Saturday (May 3) night's episode. Andrew Garfield, star of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, hosted the show and starred in the now-viral Beygency sketch.
In the faux world where Beyoncé rules all, Garfield's character starts out sitting with friends, all of whom are praising the superstar. He, however, makes a negative comment about "Drunk in Love," and before he even has time to explain, he's on the run, with the Beygency nipping at his heels.
After a little help from two Rihanna fans (who get shot in the head for speaking ill of Bey), and nearly getting taken out by a trigger-happy convenience store owner, Garfield ends up on a roof top. There, he comes face to face with the Beygency and flubs his try at Baddie Bey's "Put a Ring on It" choreography. Not executing the moves correctly gets him banished to solitary confinement.
He pays a tough price, but speaking out against Queen Bey clearly has its consequences.
