Ruth E. Carter Says 'Black Panther 2' Will Be A 'Wonderful Tribute' To Chadwick Boseman
As Hollywood gears up for its biggest night, film fans are eagerly waiting to see who will win big at this year's Academy Awards — and who'll be crowned "best dressed" on the red carpet.
While making her way down the press line at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter dropped a gem about the upcoming Black Panther sequel.
"I just finished Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," Carter told Deadline before adding, she couldn't divulge anything fans "can chew on" about the upcoming film.
But all wasn't lost. Carter, who won an Academy Award for her work on Black Panther, said the follow-up will pay homage to star Chadwick Boseman.
"It's going to be a wonderful tribute to Chad," Carter said.
Carter's words echo those of Black Panther star Lupita Nyong'o, who discussed working on the film without Boseman.
“It’ll be interesting to bring out another one of those films without Chadwick Boseman,” she told People. “But we are holding him in close light. I think people will be excited about this one.”
