Casting News: Jamie Foxx Joins Annie , Gabourey Sidibe on American Horror Story
Annie already found its orphan, and now the role of Daddy Warbucks may also be in the bag.
Jamie Foxx is in final talks to star in the musical adaptation opposite Quvenzhané Wallis, confirms the Hollywood Reporter. The actor will play Benjamin Stacks, an adaptation of the Warbucks character who takes in the spunky runaway Annie. The film is produced by Jay-Z along with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, whose daughter Willow Smith was first in line to play the famous orphan before production delays put her out of the appropriate age range.
Speaking of new projects for Oscar nominees, Precious star Gabourey Sidibe has landed a recurring role on the next season of American Horror Story. The news was announced by show creator Ryan Murphy on Twitter, but no details were given of Gabby's character.
Congrats to both Wallis and Sidibe!
