Woman's Tweet About Agreeing With Men's Compliments Starts Necessary Thread on Confidence
"Women are required to be beautiful, but also oblivious to it."
Meet Philadelphia based activist and social worker Feminista Jones
On Friday, Jones sent a tweet challenging women to agree with any compliments they receive from men
Jones then explained her experience with men who believe women should have no self confidence

One woman then posted a screenshot perfectly illustrating Jones's point
Other women quickly shared their unique experiences of men getting turned off by their confidence

Eventually, a woman named Nicole David pointed out the catch 22 for women to remain beautiful and ignorant to their beauty
Which prompted others to point out several famous pop songs derived on this idea
Jones's thread soon filled with an interesting dialogue about why some men feel threatened by a woman who takes ownership of her beauty
"This is my blanket commentary: Just because you don’t do it or you don’t see it being done, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen," Jones told BuzzFeed News. "When men go, 'Not all men,' they make it about 'I’ve never seen it, I've never done it…so it can’t be true.'”
"I’m saying to listen to what women are saying — try to understand what’s going on," she added.
