Al Jarreau Cancels Shows in France

Doctors order Al Jarreau to stay in bed as he continues to battle pneumonia.

Jazz singer Al Jarreau has been forced to cancel a part of his French tour after being diagnosed with pneumonia and hospitalized a couple weeks ago, reports The Associated Press. According to his reps, doctors have advised Jarreau not to travel while recovering, so he's canceled his June 7, 9 and 10 shows in France but hopes to perform there later in the month.
As previously reported, Jarreau was forced to cancel a concert in California on May 20 when he first received the diagnosis. At the time, the 72-year-old Grammy-winning artist was scheduled to take the stage at the Centre at Lexus Escondido, but checked into a hospital instead.
Jarreau has won seven Grammys and an additional 12 nominations over a 44-year career. In 2007 he was honored for his performance of "God Bless the Child" with Jill Scott and George Benson.
