We’re back at Xavier University this week, and things are already heating up! This episode starts with Saucy Santana on a mission to find his beloved doll, Bianca. Turns out, Karlous Miller and Claudia Jordan hid the doll because they thought Saucy was neglecting it. Neglect seems to be a big theme for Mr. Santana this season. But Saucy’s convinced it was Nick Young who hid Bianca because Nick found the whole thing hilarious and enjoyed watching Saucy freak out.

Eventually, Claudia comes clean and admits she was the one who hid the doll, just as a joke. She didn’t mean to upset Saucy and apologizes, which smooths things over. So, Saucy’s world is back in balance. Here’s to new beginnings!

The students have another day at school, and this time, everyone shows up. They dive into lessons about Ida B. Wells, civics, and strategies for engaging Gen Z voters. They meet with their grade advisor, grumbling about the heavy workload and their wish to see more of New Orleans. It’s only week one of this accelerated program, y’all!

The big lesson for them is learning to pace themselves to survive the program. Most of the crew takes this in stride, but Karlous, true to form, complains the loudest, rubbing everyone the wrong way. Saucy, meanwhile, gets called out for skipping classes, and let’s just say, he plans to keep doing his own thing.

Claudia, Angela, Tamar, and Nick are trying to stay positive and committed. Claudia even has a heart-to-heart with Karlous about his disruptive behavior, and surprisingly, Karlous is receptive.

Now, onto political science. Remember the drama over the homeless bill? The crew got frustrated with Karlous because he didn’t want to write the bill, feeling it wasn’t his problem. Today, they visited a covenant house and met with some young homeless individuals. Their stories, ranging from entrepreneurship to career setbacks, deeply touched the group, even Karlous.

Karlous bonded with one young man and connected him with a friend who could help him achieve his goals. Who knew Karlous had a heart? He’s now on board to work on the bill.

Meanwhile, Saucy tells the group he’s going to see a tutor but sneaks out for a night on the town. The group quickly catches on when they see him partying on social media. Stay tuned for the next episode to see how that plays out!
