Trial Date Set in Flavor Flav Assault Case
Flavor Flav will go to trial this fall for allegedly attacking his girlfriend and her 17-year-old son. A Las Vegas judge rescheduled the court proceedings that will now begin September 30, in the Clark County District Court.
On Tuesday (May 6) Flav — whose real name is William Drayton Jr. — pleaded not guilty to felony assault with a weapon and child endangerment charges stemming from the incident. He faces up to 12 years if convicted.
The 54-year-old was arrested last October after police were called to his Las Vegas residence over a physical confrontation between Flav and his girlfriend, former reality star Elizabeth Trujillo.
Trujillo and Flav were said to be arguing over allegations that he was cheating, before things escalated. Her son got involved once the verbal dispute got physical.
According to the teen's testimony, the Public Enemy hype-man chased him around the house with a knife. The youngster also alleges that Flav threatened his life.
A judge in the case decided that a trial was necessary, after hearing the teen's account.
