See This Blogger’s Ultimate Clapback To A Fat-Shaming Troll
Honestly, the internet never ceases to amaze us.
Yes, occasionally memes do make us laugh, but we do draw the line when they actually hurt. Take for instance the case of 24-year-old Lesego Legobane (a.k.a. @Thickleeyonce), who was the target of A mean-spirited meme yesterday.
The South African plus-size blogger, body positivity activist, and co-owner @lee_bex was unwillingly used in a Twitter meme by Leyton Mokgerepi @imleyton designed to showcase “girls that I like vs. girls that like me.”
Really, dude?!
Can you imagine waking up and seeing your exact likeness plastered all over the internet? Awful...
She only found out about the tweet when someone tagged her in it. She decided "he had to know his place," Lee told BuzzFeed News. "So, I decided to reply because I felt he was being rude," she said.
But Lee had the best mic drop ever in response to the tweet: “I don’t like you.” How's that for transparency?
She then reminded her troll (and the rest of her 275k followers) “I hate it when men think that fat girls are desperate and that we like every other guy [cuz] ‘we don't have options.’ First of all, check yourself! So, this guy tried it and it seems that my response tweet went viral!”
Not only did it go viral, but stars like Nicki Minaj, Ava Duvenay and Ariana Grande like her tweet. Apparently she gained thousands of followers overnight and an onslaught of media coverage.
Of course, once the internet dragged Leyton for his #fauxpas, he tried to backtrack and he tweeted Lee’s photo again — this time calling her "girlfriend goals," in what appeared to be a peace offering.
Sorry, bruh, too late. Plus, in the words of our curvy queen: #FatAndStillOuttaYourLeague
