Well, Well, Well: Here’s Who Just Publicly Apologized To Nicki Minaj
Barbs, another Nicki Minaj foe is biting the dust, and considering his longtime gripe with the Young Money raptress, this one’s especially worth a listen: Funkmaster Flex.
Hopping on Instagram Live, the Hot 97 DJ admitted that he’s giving Nicki’s two new singles (“Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz”) a thumbs up, a sharply contrasting statement to the one he made only one week ago.
“Nicki’s two new songs, I think it’s good music,” he said. “I think she proved me wrong with me saying that she was trash. I think that she’s making good music.”
His favorite of the newly-released duo is Nicki’s aggressive, alter ego-driven “Chun-Li” single. It took some time to grow on him, he said, but not too long. Between the first time he’d heard the tracks on his phone up until he made it to work that day, he’d already approved them as certified fire.
As for Cardi B, who he’s also now switching up positions on, it appears as though he’s no longer supporting her rumored ghostwriting facilities.
“And Cardi’s consistently getting somebody else to write her sh**,” he said in another video. “You know I was going to f**king go there! I can’t stand rappers who don’t write their own shit!”
He also added a word about fight-or-flight, condemning artists who shut off their Instagram comments when it all hits the fan and presumably when they’re secret pen masters are exposed. He’ll definitely be hearing from the Bardi Gang about this one.
In the meantime, what do you say Barbs—truce?
