Pharrell is working on Missy Elliott’s upcoming album, he revealed during an interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon Wednesday (April 1). 

Elliott’s name came up while P spoke about his new collaborations, including Snoop Dogg’s Bush album dropping next month.

After shouting out his home state, the 41-year-old producer name-dropped his fellow Virginia native, and gave a nod to her creative prowess. “The way her mind works when we’re in the studio…just the things that she says and thinks about, her video concepts."

P added that he wasn't familiar with exactly how hands-on she's been outside of writing and recording. "I didn’t know that her video concepts were hers, I’m so proud of her," he said. "That’s Virginia.”

Elliott hasn’t released a solo studio album in a decade (her last official release was The Cookbook in 2000) but she has dabbled back in music here and there, and performed some of her classics at the Super Bowl with Katy Perry in February.

She hasn’t yet announced an album title or release date.
