Yesterday (March 24) news broke that despite spending 180 in jail and fulfilling his sentence for battery charges, Kevin Gates still isn't a free man.

As reported, the rapper remains incarcerated due to the arrival of an out-of-state warrant and therefore is preventing his previously-scheduled release. As fans feel for Gates following this unpredictable hiccup, the rapper's wife has come forward with a statement asking for prayers.

A day after the rapper's re-arrest, his wife, Dreka Haynes, has taken to Instagram to detail how heartbroken she is regarding this unfortunate development in her husband's incarceration and is asking for fans for their continued support.

"To everyone that’s rooting for Kevin right, THANK YOU, but PLEASE shift your thoughts, prayers, energy, etc. towards the idea of being home and enjoying life as a free man," Haynes shared on Instagram. "Do NOT dwell on the things that have been put out by the media. Their only goal in anything is to grab/seek attention, not necessarily to release information that is FACTUAL."

From there, she also shared a personal update, reassuring fans that she herself is doing okay during this difficult time.

"By the way, I'm good," she added. "A little heartbroken but I'm a fighter and it's only a matter of time before this is all over."

According to reports, Gates will reportedly remain behind bars until being transferred by Illinois authorities sometime within the next 30 days.
