Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy announced their "amicable" split over the weekend, but the timing couldn't have been worse, according to a source close to Strahan. The insider reveals to TMZ that Strahan was "blindisded" by the announcement, which occurred at the precise time he was being inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Though the breakup had been a long time coming, friends of Strahan believe his former fiancée was deliberately trying to ruin the biggest moment of Strahan's career. According to sources, Strahan and Murphy had ended their engagement weeks ago but made no plans to formally announce the decision this particular weekend.

One clue that Strahan truly was in the dark about the announcement: he opened his Hall of Fame speech with, "This has been the best weekend of my life."

So far, there has been no comment from Murphy's camp about the "suspicious" timing of the announcement.
