Justin Bieber Detained at LAX
Justin Bieber's return to the U.S. hit a major delay. The 20-year-old Canadian star was detained at LAX Thursday (April 24) on his way back into the 50 states from Japan as part of a "routine" practice, according to the New York Daily News.
The Biebs was held up at customs, where he was questioned and underwent a secondary search, due to his pending legal troubles. While he was being grilled, his entourage waited outside the airport for three hours, before Bieber was finally allowed to leave.
From there, the "Confident" singer was shuffled into a waiting van and on to his next location.
He ran into a similar customs issue earlier this year while trying to fly from Canada to New Jersey for the Super Bowl on a private jet.
Bieber has lots of criminal cases on his record at the moment. Besides a Miami DUI bust in January, he faces an assault charge in Toronto, and a potential vandalism charge for that infamous egg attack on his former neighbor's home.
Visiting Japan didn't come without incident either. Bieber caught backlash for Instagramming a photo from a Japanese war shrine, believing it was a place of prayer. He quickly apologized, writing that he was "misled" about the location. "To anyone who I offended, I am extremely sorry," he added.
