Takeoff, who was born Kirshnik Khari Ball, was killed on Nov. 1 outside a downtown Houston bowling alley with group member Quavo when an altercation broke out resulting in gunfire. He was 28.
After the shooting, no one stayed on the scene to give the police a statement Sergeant Michael Burrow said, The New York Times reported. Video surveillance, cellphone footage and other evidence were used to determine that Clark fatally shot Takeoff.
The police believe that the rapper was “an innocent bystander,” Burrow stated. Gun fire erupted after a dice game led to an argument.
“I can tell you that Takeoff was not involved in playing in the dice game, he was not involved in the argument that happened outside, he was not armed,” Burrow added.

An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences in Houston said Takeoff died from gunshot wounds to his head and torso, The Associated Press reported.
Officers said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible, WSB reported.
“It certainly, I think, will bring some comfort to the family, though it does not bring Takeoff back,” Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said, according to The Times.
