Justin Bieber can take a little breathing time before his next legal showdown. A hearing earlier today pushed the pop star's DUI trial to May 5, the New York Post reports. 

Bieber 20, was arrested for DUI, drag racing, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license, in January. The Biebs was never offered a plea deal as previously reported, prosecutor Daniel Diaz Bartlet said during today's hearing.   

The star's lawyer, Roy Black, stated, "All we're going to say is, we're going to prepare for a trial that Mr. Bieber has pleaded not guilty." Bieber's defense could be built around various inaccuracies discovered in the original arrest story, including the point that Bieber wasn't speeding at the time of his arrest.

Khalil Sharrieff, the 20-year-old singer arrested alongside Bieber, will head to court April 17. He also pleaded not guilty to DUI.

Bieber's trial was originally scheduled for March, but the date was delayed while both sides hashed out an agreement over his arrest video. Miami-Dade County Judge William Autfield ruled to publicize an edited portion of the footage out of respect for Bieber's privacy. 

While Autfield made his rights a "priority" in the Miami bust, the judge presiding over a separate assault case involving Bieber denied a request to seal his deposition video. The not-so-flattering video landed online yesterday. "There's absolutely no protection for somebody like Justin," Black said of his client. 

The footage was recorded last week and shows Bieber visibly annoyed by the line of questioning, specifically when asked about ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

Earlire today Bieber Instagrammed, and then deleted, a video dancing with his former flame to John Legend's "Ordinary People."
