Charlotte Pastor Donates $10K In Free Gas To Area Drivers

“Whenever people have to make a choice between gas and children going to school or eating, it’s a real tragedy,” he said.

Pastor Brian Carn is bringing relief to some residents in Charlotte, N.C.

According to GasBuddy, the unleaded gas in North Carolina has skyrocketed to $4.18 from $2.88 a year ago, due to supply chain issues, increased demand for travel due to the decline of COVID-19, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Whenever people have to make a choice between gas and children going to school or eating, it’s a real tragedy,” he said, according to Spectrum News.

As a result, Carn, and his Kingdom City Church, reportedly donated roughly $10,000 worth of free gas on Saturday (March 12) to anyone who needed it and attended the drive up event. The news even reached Europe.

“Hallelujah to GOD!” wrote a woman from London, England, according to the Charlotte Observer. “Keep Shining Prophet GOD Got You!”

Raised by a single parent, who prioritized the family’s Christian faith, he’s been praying for as long as he’s been talking.

“Every day. Literally, we were in church every day,” he told Spectrum.

Through $35 gas cards, Kingdom City Church provided gas to more than 300 drivers and also gave away groceries and other gift cards to families in need last weekend. The money came directly from Carn’s pockets, according to The Grio.

Carn says he’s just following his purpose and the example set by a higher power.

“Jesus fed them and then he ministered to them,” he said. “So, right now the food is gas.”
