Diddy's Police Escort Upsets NYC Mayor

Michael Bloomberg says officers should treat everyone the same.

Looks like the mayor of New York City isn't as big of a Diddy fan as some members of the NYPD. On Friday, the rapper/mogul was escorted by police to his concert afterparty in New Jersey after his helicopter was grounded. Apparently, Mayor Bloomberg disapproves of this treatment.
"The bottom line is the Police Department should treat everybody exactly the same. If you don't get a police escort, P. Diddy shouldn't," said the mayor in a statement. According to The New York Post, the mayor contacted Internal Affairs to investigate why Diddy was given special treatment.
NYPD says that police only escorted Diddy one block, and not all the way to New Jersey, which is what was initially reported. Still, the assistance that Diddy received is currently under investigation, as police escorts are only authorized in the event of a security issue.
