Kendrick Lamar Hits Up the Bay Area for 'Alright' Video
He may be the self-appointed West Coast King of New York, but the last two music videos from Kendrick Lamar are hinged on California love.
Lamar shot his new video for “Alright” in the Bay Area this past weekend, his second non-typical Cali shooting location, since “King Kunta” was filmed at the Compton Swap Meet last month.
For the new video, Lamar headed to Oakland and San Francisco, photos of which have been floating around social media all weekend. In one flick the 27-year-old raps while hanging upside down from a wire, with a large crowd behind him.
Roughly 100 extras were on hand, including local rappers Ezale and Los Rakas. Everyone was told to “go dumb,” the East Bay Express reports.
“Alright” is helmed by director, Colin Tilley, who is a Bay Area native.
