A medical report filed by the family doctor of Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman shows that following the fatal incident on Feb. 26, Zimmerman was diagnosed with a "closed fracture" of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury.

The report, obtained by ABC News, is part of medical records released Tuesday that will be used by prosecutors in the second-degree murder case against Zimmerman.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer who shot the unarmed 17-year-old claims that he acted in self-defense after being attacked by the teen. Zimmerman told police that he feared for his life after Trayvon jumped on top of him and pounded his head into the pavement. He also says he only made the decision to shoot Trayvon in the chest after the teen seemed to reach for Zimmerman’s gun, which was wedged in his waistband.

The medical report also shows that prior to the shooting, Zimmerman was prescribed two medications, Adderall and Temazepam, that have side effects such as agitation and mood swings in a small percentage of people.

In addition to Zimmerman's medical report, Trayvon's autopsy results show he had bruised knuckles at the time of his death; a cryptic detail that some say could both bolster Zimmerman's claim of self-defense, or equally prove that Trayvon was trying to defend himself from the neighborhood watchman. 

Monday, a local Florida news station reported that the FBI is eyeing hate crime charges for Zimmerman amid claims that he targeted Martin as a suspicious person because of the color of his skin. WFTV Florida reported that FBI investigators are in the retreat at the Twin Lakes neighborhood where the shooting took place and are actively questioning witnesses and seeking evidence.
