Here’s How Dave Chappelle Feels About Colin Kaepernick
Dave Chappelle has always been a champion for the civil rights cause, and it’s often a topic of his stand up and even his early 2000s sketch show. Lately, though, he's been taking some punches thanks to his apparent support for Donald Trump, skipping a Flint fundraiser to go to the Oscars, and his transphobic jokes from his most recent Netflix special.
Now, Chappelle is making a bold statement about Colin Kaepernick that can't be ignored.
The comedian showed his support for the former NFL quarterback by wearing this shirt during his show on Thursday night (August 24) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City:
The shirts were being given out by the NAACP at their Kaepernick rally in front of NFL headquarters on Wednesday, although it’s unclear where Chappelle actually got the shirt from.
During his performance, Chappelle wore a different shirt, but made sure that someone got a pic of him rocking the Kaep one prior.
Clearly, we know where he stands.
