Jay Z Adds Taylor Swift’s Music to His New Streaming Service

Pop superstar is a major addition to Hov’s latest business venture.

A Jay Z and Taylor Swift collaboration has been revealed, but it's not quite the type that you would think. As opposed to just recording a song together, the unlikely pair is working musically in a different way, with Jigga adding all of the country-pop star's albums to his new streaming service, TIDAL.

This is an interesting move for Swift as she recently removed all of her music from Spotify as of last year. Speaking with TIME on her decision to remove her music from the leading streaming app, the "Style" singer said, "I think there should be an inherent value placed on art. I didn't see that happening, perception-wise, when I put my music on Spotify."

The 25-year-old's gripe is not with the concept of streaming, but with Spotify itself. She feels like artists do not get adequately compensated for their hard work through the services made available on the site. "On Spotify, they don't have any settings, or any kind of qualifications for who gets what music," she said. "I think that people should feel that there is a value to what musicians have created, and that's that."

While you won't find Swift's music on Spotify, you can now stream Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now and Red on TIDAL thanks to the Midas touch of Jay Z. Swift's latest platinum-selling venture, 1989, will be made available for streaming soon.

Jay first made a bid back in January for the Swedish company Aspiro, which owns the streaming services WiMP and TIDAL. His offer was officially approved just before the March 11 deadline.
