Rihanna Steps Down As CEO Of Savage X Fenty

The transition is effective June 26.

A round of applause is in order as Rihanna takes a final bow as CEO of Savage X Fenty.

On Friday (June 23), the brand announced that the Grammy award-winning singer would pass the torch to Hillary Super—the former CEO of Anthropologie Group—as reported by the Independent.

But RiRi is not fully closing the curtain on the company. She will step into a new leadership role within the Savage X Fenty family as executive chair, according to Vogue.

In a released statement, the company said, “It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years.”

Of this change in leadership, Rihanna reflected on the company’s past success as it moves in a new direction. In the statement she said, “It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years.”

Super is no stranger to the fashion industry as her experience spans across brands such as Guess, American Eagle, Gap, and Old Navy. She said, “I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family. The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring.”

Rihanna founded the brand in 2018 as a safe space for lingerie inclusivity for all genders, ethnicities, shapes, and sizes.

Each year, fans of the iconic brand have looked forward to its provocative fashion shows in which Rihanna has performed. The shows have brought out celebrities to model clothes from the brand, including Taraji P. Henson, Damson Idris, Marsai Martin, Winston Duke, and Taylour Paige, and have featured musical acts from Burna Boy to Normani, and Erykah Badu.

According to Vogue, this move in leadership is the result of the brand wanting to reach beyond e-commerce.

The change in leadership is effective June 26.
