The NAACP Image Awards celebrated achievements of people of color in films, television, literature and music on Friday night, with Selma and Black-ish the big winners of the night. Reggie Bythewood took home Best Director for a Motion Picture, Television for the BET original movie Gun Hill.
Ava DuVernay's civil rights drama, which is up for a Best Picture Academy Award, won Best Outstanding Motion Picture, with wins for lead actor David Oyelowo, supporting actor Common and actress Carmen Ejogo.

On the television front, Black-ish scored a number of awards, including Best Comedy Series, Best Actor in a Comedy (Anthony Anderson), Best Actress in a Comedy (Tracee Ellis Ross)  and both supporting actor categories (Laurence Fishburne and Yara Shahidi).

How to Get Away With Murder won Best Drama Series and Best Actress for Viola Davis, with both Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Television Drama going to Scandal (Joe Morton and Khandi Alexander, respectively). On the music side, Pharrell took the award for Outstanding Male Artist and Beyoncé for Outstanding Female Artist.
