Here Are The Most Underrated Artists In Hip-Hop, According To Nas

Pay respect where it's due.

Nas may be considered one of the veterans in the rap game, but apparently you can never be too old to pay homage to the ones that have come before you. On Instagram this past weekend (Nov. 19), the New York rapper showed loved to who he claims is the most underrated artists in hip-hop.

MARLEY MARL. And the most Overlooked, MC SHAN. Before Rakim or LL ....Shan Ruled. Shan schooled. The Shakespearean Emcee himself,” he wrote in the caption of a vintage pic of Queens natives Marley Marl (left) and MC Shan (right).

For all those who may have still been in diapers when MC Shan and Marley Marl were running th scene, the duo collaborated on the 1987 classic “The Bridge.” MC Shan is also credited on the international hit “Informer” with reggae musician Snow in 1992. Marley Marl has also produced a number of hit records, including LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out” and Eric B. and Rakim’s “Paid in Full.”

Nas also paid respects to Powerful Pexster, LEE, Mr. Wave and Mr. Magic. He hasn’t always been this active on social media, but it’s nice to see him come out of hiding once in a while and show love to some of the greats. See his posts below.
