Juvenile Talks Cash Money With The Breakfast Club
Now that he's older, wiser and back with Cash Money, Juvenile is keeping his focus on family and making music.
"Being away for a minute was a good thing because now I know what I need to do," the New Orleans-reared "Ha" rapper revealed in a recent chat with The Breakfast Club. He has a new mixtape, Mardi Gras 2, coming soon, an album in the works and a possible name-change when he celebrates his birthday this month (he's considering "Big Juve"), for example.
He also addressed the financial friction that's been following Cash Money around in the headlines throughout the years. Despite his own contract disputes with the label that helped catapult him to multi-platinum status, Juvenile's feeling steady about his return. "We worked it out," he said. "Lawyers gon' do they thing, we gon' do our thing."
He hopes the same is real for his Hot Boys brethren Lil Wayne, who sued CM for some $51 million soon after Juve re-signed. Juve won't get in the middle of it. "I just stay out the way," he said. Weezy F. and Baby "were rocking tough and tight together for some years ... It gotta be something they can work out."
Elsewhere, he revisits the signing talks he had with G-Unit's Young Buck, competing with Master P's No Limit when bounce music first broke into the mainstream and the advice he gives his son, who is now rapping. Watch the full interview in the video below.
