Latto Breaks Silence on Why She Keeps Her Relationship with Boyfriend a Secret
Latto is not pressed by folks trying to figure out who her boyfriend is.
The ATL rapper known for club bangers "Big Energy" and "It's Givin", spoke her mind to Cosmopolitan for their July/August cover story on why the identity of her boyfriend is her business and her business only, as reported by PEOPLE.
"If something is special to me, I'm going to keep it close to me because everything else has to be front and center about my life," she said.
She also sheds light on her boyfriend flying out to see her perform but notes his visits are "not a consistent thing" because her privacy is her priority.
"I think we find the beauty in separation sometimes because it makes us miss each other. My privacy is more important [than seeing him in the crowd]. I can't have people putting two and two together. This is the longest relationship I’ve ever been in."
Latto also has yet to reveal her beau's name but says she references him on social media, while Cosmopolitan reports that they have been in each other's orbit since she was a teenager.
The alpha female rapper also admitted that in terms of being the “jealous type” she is “crazy” but “not that crazy” and cherishes the moments she has in between their time together.
"I let him have his time and he lets me have mine. We trust each other," she said. "When he's at home, like now, he's probably gambling with his friends. I let him do him. We've built that trust, and I think people will probably be caught off guard or shocked at who I am in a relationship versus my public persona."
While fans on social media have been working overtime to uncover her mystery man, Latto continues to deny that the man behind the mask is 21 Savage. In February, rumors began to swirl after she was photographed with a mysterious tattoo behind her ear that read “Sheyaa”, his real name.
Latto addressed those rumors when a fan called her out on TikTok. When asked if she and 21 Savage were involved, she responded, “No I've said I'm not plenty [of] times," according to a screenshot published by Complex.
Back in December, 21 Savage also denied that his girlfriend was a celebrity.
On June 17, Latto joined Cardi B on stage to perform her new anthem, “Put It On The Floor,” as 21 Savage headlined 107.9’s Birthday Bash in Atlanta.
Latto also told her hometown radio station, Hot 107.9, that the man she is involved with is financially supportive and pays all her bills.
