Video Of White Woman Telling Cops 'Shut The F**k Up' Is The Perfect Example Of White Privilege
A viral video of a former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey commissioner cussing at two police officers for pulling over her daughter is being called the best visual representation of white privilege.
In the video released Tuesday, Carn Turner confronts two Tenafly Police officers after a car where her daughter was a passenger was pulled over for an expired registration. Although Turner was just called to the stop to pick up her daughter, she didn’t leave until she gave the cops a piece of her mind.
"You're just here as the ride, right?" one officer can be heard asking Turner.
"No I'm not," Turner sharply responded. "I'm here as a concerned citizen and friend of the mayor and been in Tenafly for 20 years."
Turner then repeatedly asked why the car was pulled over, yet the officer said the driver could provide that information.
When she asked again why the car was pulled over, the other officer addressed Turner as "miss."
"No, don't call me miss," Turner said. "I'm commissioner. Thank you."
The officer then told Turner that she “may” take her daughter.
"You may not tell me when to take my child," Turner said. "You may shut the f**k up and not tell me when I may take my kid and her friends, who are Ph.D. students from MIT and Yale. You may tell me nothing."
Based on the treatment of unarmed Black people by police, many found the video incredibly shocking
Comparing Turner's incident to that of Sandra Bland or Stephon Clark shows how white people can be given preferential treatment by the law

Turner was appointed to the Port Authority last year by former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Following the incident, she resigned from her post.
Both the Port Authority and Tenafly Police Chief Robert Chamberlain told CBS News Turner was right to resign based on her actions in the video.
Even in her resignation, Turner slammed the police
