Djimon Hounsou Joins Milton's Paradise Lost Cast
It looks like Kimora's husband returning to Hollywood with -- holy -- vengeance.
Following his latest film, 2011's Elephant White, Djimon Hounsou is now among the cast of a reworked take on John Milton's Paradise Lost. Hounsou will play the Angel of Death, Abdiel, according to Shadow And Act.
The script was adapted by Alex Proyas. Other cast members include Bradley Cooper of Limitless as Lucifer, and Ben Walker as the angel Michael.
The story follows the war between archangels Lucifer and Michael as well as Adam and Eve’s fall from grace, which destroys Paradise once Lucifer takes the form of a serpent and tricks Eve into eating from the forbidden Tree of Knowledge.
In the classic Milton work, Abdiel is a small part of the story. While he initially joins Lucifer’s rebellion, he eventually denounces Satan and remains faithful to God.
Milton's Paradise Lost is in the works as an action film, coming after other angels at war films like 2009's Legion.
