Chief Keef can count himself one huge step closer to settling a $20,900 child support debt, TMZ reports. The Chicago rapper, born Keith Cozart, has been in and out of jail recently, but he won't be getting arrested for skipping out on the outstanding debt, thanks to his new payment plan.
A Cook County, Ill., judge ordered Keef to pay $11,000 on Oct. 21, court documents state.
Making the bulk payment keeps the teen, who is currently in rehab for the next three months, out of custody for the matter — a warrant had been issued for his arrest in September for repeatedly disregarding court dates over the back pay owed to his baby's mother. That issue will be addressed in court next month.
Besides getting his child support situation in order, Keef is working to kick his weed addiction at a treatment center somewhere in Southern California. After his court-ordered 90-day stint commences, Keef will head back to Illinois to work at a horse therapy facility for disabled patients, some of which are children.
Arriving at LAX last month, the rapper appeared excited about the community service. "I like working with kids," he said.
Keef's next court date in the child support case is scheduled for Dec. 10.
