Plagued with insecurity and anxiety, Gbemi Nadi of London never imagined that she would one day become a model, but the 22-year-old now poses in lingerie shoots for a living, enjoying every single minute.

According to the Daily Mail, Gbemi was constantly bullied as a teenager by her classmates about her size, but look at her now, fully embracing her curves!

When she was younger, Nadi was told that she should be a model but did not believe she fit the typical description. Gbemi had a size 16 body while only in high school, which meant her "grown woman" body came in way before she was really ready for the attention that it brings along with modeling.

Currently a UK size 20-22, Gbemi entered her first Ms. Curvaceous competition in 2015 after her friend encouraged her to participate. Since then, she has let her self-love replace the self-hate that she once had for herself.

"I have always said I won't let it define me," Gbemi explains. "I went through a stage of self-hate, not valuing myself because that would be me letting them win but I say I am not a survivor, I am an overcomer."

Recently signed to MerriMaid Models in London, Gbemi shot with DOLLHOUSE photography in Birmingham, UK. In each photo she proudly poses, thus disrupting the societal perception of beauty since her shape is not the "norm."

After her first modeling competition, Gbemi said she felt truly inspired by the women who were also taking part. This in turn inspired her to share some of her modeling pics on her Instagram account, which she uses to promote body positivity. 

"I use my photos to inspire others," she mentions. "For me, body positivity isn't just for plus women. There is a misconception there because body positivity is for anybody. Everybody is beautiful no matter the height, weight, gender or race."

Gbemi is a true advocate of embracing self regardless of how others and/or society may feel about it!
