Stacey Dash Tries to Justify Calling Jesse Williams a 'Plantation Slave' in a Bizarre Rant

The backlash appears to have upset the "Clueless" star.

Following his moving pro-Black Humanitarian Award acceptance speech at the 2016 BET Awards, Jesse Williams received his fair share of criticism, but it was the harsh words from Stacey Dash that took the cake. The conservative actress took to her blog to label the Grey's Anatomy star a "plantation slave," and when a writer called her out for the offensive tag, she felt the need to explain her stance even further.

Dash penned another blog post to address Breitbart writer Sonnie Johnson's criticism of her words. Here's the part that the writer, and many others, found problematic:

"You've just seen the perfect example of a HOLLYWOOD plantation slave! Sorry, Mr. Williams," she wrote. "But the fact that you were standing on that stage at THOSE awards tells people you really don't know what you're talking about. Just spewing hate and anger."

Johnson wrote her own critique of the Clueless actress's words, saying, "Every single piece of Black media picked up that title, that tag, everywhere, to tell Black people republicans do not like you. They think you're on a plantation. They think that you are a slave. This is why we continue to lose, and there is a generation of us that are tired of this."

Well, Stacey went on to say that while she didn't read Johnson's full piece, she think they somehow shared the same sentiments on "what is needed."

Speaking specifically on her "plantation slave" reference, the actress seems to backtrack slightly, explaining that it was "figurative, of course."

"The entitlements act as a modern subsistence driving people to not try to progress either with furthering their education or work opportunities," she continued. "This is human nature."
