Dylann Roof Faces New Charges in Charleston Shooting
The man accused of killing nine people at Emanuel AME Church on June 17 faces three new charges of attempted murder, AP reports.
Prosecutor Scarlett Wilson says Dylann Roof has been indicted on state charges for the people who survived the attack at the historic Black church. He was also formally indicted by a grand jury on nine counts of murder for which he was charged in June.
"My office cannot comment on the merits of the case," Wilson said in a statement.
Roof also faces a weapons charge. It is yet to be determined if he will be charged with a hate crime.
He is set to return to court in October on the murder charges.
