Serena Williams Shares Her Self-Care Routine To Avoid Stretch Marks While Pregnant
Just take her word for it; Cocoa butter, shea butter, and vitamin E oil does a body good!
On Sunday (July 16), Serena Williams shared an up close and personal video diary of her self-care routine to avoid pesky belly marks, as reported by Pop Sugar.
The YouTube video opens with the tennis pro standing in her bathroom while wearing a black crop top, matching shorts, and robe, as her cute 5-year-old daughter, Olympia, says, “Action!”
“I thought it would be really good for me to show you what I use on my belly because I love beauty products,” the mom-to-be said. But the tennis star admitted that she did not have an extensive routine during her first pregnancy but developed “very little” marks. However, this time, the expecting mom wants to try and avoid getting any stretch marks.
To take care of her belly bump, Williams says she discovered that cocoa butter was the best product. In the video, she grabbed a bag, pulled out a bar of the product, and generously rubbed it on her stomach. She massaged it in after applying it to her midsection and lower abdomen.
The next item in her routine was shea butter. She placed the product in the palm of her hand, then rubbed both hands together to warm it up. In the video, Williams first applied the butter on her back, then worked her hand forward to her belly while concentrating on her midsection. She waited about 10 minutes before using the next item.
The final product in her routine is pure vitamin E oil, which she says, "This stuff is crazy, crazy thick." She poured a small amount into her hand, then massaged it into her stomach. "I'm just trying to make my skin more elastic.", she says.
She adds, "When this journey is over, which will be in a few months, we'll see if I got stretch marks or not."
