Olympia Is Her Mommy's Biggest Fan In Matching Looks, Plus Serena Williams Opens Up About Retiring To Be A 'Great' Mom!

"I think I'm good at it, but I want to explore if I can be great at it."

Earlier this month, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams' announced her farewell to tennis. Shocked by the news, fans around the world sent their love and appreciation to the GOAT. Now, the talented athlete is pivoting her focus to parenthood.

Williams' says her daughter Olympia, who celebrates her 5th birthday this week, has been eager to become a big sister. "When I look at Olympia, I'm really not performing at my peak by not trying harder to give her that sibling. Coming from a big family, and coming from five, there's nothing better," the proud mom says in the latest issue of TIME.

She continued, “It comes to a point where women sometimes have to make different choices than men, if they want to raise a family. It’s just black and white. You make a choice or you don’t.”

As a mom, she has noted that she feels it’s time to shift her priorities.

Despite making one of the hardest decisions of her life, she believes she’s ready for the transition because when it comes to being a mom, Williams said, "I think I'm good at it, but I want to explore if I can be great at it."

ICYMI: On August 30, Olympia donned a similar bedazzled Nike dress as her mommy during the tennis icon’s possible last U.S. Open match. She completed the adorable look with cornrows accessorized with white hair beads, reminiscent of her mom’s early days on the court.
