By definition, a hate crime is any offense motivated solely or majorly by prejudice or bias based upon race, gender, creed and so forth. For example, take the white couple who terrorized an 8-year-old Black boy with Confederate flags and racial slurs. Or the Black Bowie State University student stabbed to death by a white student who is dually a member of a white supremacist Facebook group.

But according to a white security guard who alleges that Young Money mogul Lil Wayne committed one against him, all it takes is being called a “white boy” to qualify for such a violation. 

According to TMZ, a California man is suing Weezy after claiming that the New Orleans rap star punched him in the face as he was working security at the front of Hyde nightclub in June 2016.

The man alleges that Weezy’s behavior turned aggressive during a BET Awards after-party. TMZ adds that he claims he was tasked with controlling the club’s entry, but was met with a punch in the face from the New Orleans native and a glass of liquor thrown on him. He further claimed in the court documents that Weezy yelled, “F**k you, white boy!” — deeming the alleged attack a hate crime.

The site reports that Wayne’s reps have denied ever punching him, but the man will be squaring up against him, his label and the venue for damages  for assault and battery in court. He’s named a $25,000 civil penalty price for the alleged damages as a result of the hate crime as well, TMZ adds.

As legal proceedings ensue, we’ll keep an eye on how the courts decide to handle this one.
