Is R. Kelly Still Controlling Joycelyn Savage?
The parents of R. Kelly’s girlfriend are accusing him of controlling her from jail as he awaits sentencing, charging that the only way they can reach their daughter is through the artist’s entourage.
Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage have been attempting to reunite with Joycelyn, 26, since Kelly was found guilty in September in his federal sex crimes trial. Despite their efforts, they report to TMZ that communication is a hassle.
Joycelyn’s parents have been trying to contact her about a few deaths that have occured in the family: her grandmother and grandfather.
“We tried to reach out to Joycelyn when my father passed,” Timothy Savage said in a video. “We had to always reach out through his camp. In the same time we had to reach out through his camp for my father, is the same way we did, this time, for Jonjelyn’s mother. No response, whatsoever.”
Joycelyn had been living with Kelly for 4-6 years, with many failed attempts by her parents to bring her home. Now-ex girlfriend Azriel Clary was also living at Kelly’s house for the time period. In January 2020, Clary returned to Kelly’s Chicago condo at Trump Tower to presumably finish packing her belongings after deciding to cooperate with the feds during Kelly’s investigation and trial. The video was obtained by The Shaderoom.
When Joycelyn appeared in court for the alleged attack on Clary, her mother approached her in an attempt to have a conversation with her. Joycelyn quickly walked off and departed in an SUV.
“Everybody wants to say she’s grown, let me hear from a grown woman,” her dad continued in the video. I want to hear from my daughter. I don’t want to hear from no third party.”
“We would like to have a one-on-one discussion with you,” the mom finished her thoughts.
They’re both demanding that they see Joycelyn at her grandmother’s funeral.
