Vanessa Williams Writing an Inspirational Book
Twenty-three years after staging one the biggest career comebacks in the history of American entertainment, Vanessa Williams has words of inspiration to offer in print.
EW.com reports that the singer and Desperate Housewives star has recruited her mother, Helen Williams, to co-write a motivational book for women. According to a press release from Gotham Books, the mom-and-daughter team will touch on topics such as “success, failure, family, love, fear, loss, strength, resilience, children and living a meaningful life.”
For those too young to remember, Vanessa Williams became the first Black Miss America in 1984. After being forced to resign her crown because of a nude photo scandal, Williams went on to become an even bigger star, first as a singer and then an actress.
The as-yet-untitled book is scheduled for a fall 2012 release.
