Wrong Move, Playa: Killer Mike Tried To Come For Joy-Ann Reid And She Absolutely Destroyed Him

We're betting he wishes for a do-over.

A wise man named Fredro Starr once coined the phrase “do ya Googles” during his group Onyx’s appearance on The Breakfast Club.

  • It’s advice that fellow rapper Killer Mike probably wishes he would’ve taken before coming at a seasoned veteran of clapback. This morning (April 8), the Run the Jewels emcee was presumably scrolling through his Instagram when he saw author, political commentator and MSNBC show host Joy-Ann Reid’s post about a photo shoot she did with friends.

Specifically, her caption read, “And not to be outdone... @glamluxxe and @savvychicz, who rocked the H&M for our Elgin Baylor shoot! #AMJoy #GlamSquad.”

  • Well Mike, who is hot off of getting smoked by Reid and others for appearing on an NRA TV program to talk about Black gun ownership, thought it’d be the perfect chance to discredit her for, um, promoting H&M.

“So me doing an interview about black Gun Ownership with the NRA is ‘bad,’ but you promoting a company that tagged a black child a monkey is ‘good, cool, acceptable,’” Mike commented. “Ok check. Smh n****s.”

  • Problem for Killer Mike is that the H&M Reid’s referring to is “hair and makeup” and not the troubled clothing brand. It was a missed dunk Joy-Ann and the rest of the Twitter/Instagram world will never let Mike forget about.

“’H&M’ stands for ‘hair and makeup,’ Mike,” she responded. “The two women beside me in this pic did my hair (H) and makeup (M) for a shoot. The blouse I’m wearing is by @norisolferrari and I doubt you can buy it at the retail chain you’re thinking of. (I got it from the designer via a stylist.) And here I was thinking you were an intellectual, and not just the guy who hangs out in the sunken place talking guns with the NRA’s ‘official black guy’ who literally changed his last name to ‘black.'”

Sheeeeeesh. Ok ok ok, he's down.

Oh yeah, and that social media backlash...

  • At least Killer Mike apologized... Kind of.

He also says that he'll soon appear on Joy-Ann Reid's program to discuss Black gun ownership.

  • Wait, how did this somehow work out for him? SMH.
