Judge Rules Rudy Giuliani Must Hand Over Luxury Items and Manhattan Apartment to Defamed Georgia Election Workers

The two women, who counted ballots in Georgia during the 2020 election, are also entitled to about $2 million in legal fees Giuliani claims the Trump campaign still owes him.

On Tuesday (Oct. 22), a federal judge ordered Rudy Giuliani to hand over all valuable belongings, including his Manhattan penthouse, to Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss—the Georgia election workers he defamed and now owes $150 million, according to CNN.

Judge Lewis Liman from Manhattan federal court gave Giuliani seven days to transfer his interest in the apartment to a receivership controlled by Freeman and Moss. This would allow them to sell the property, potentially for millions eventually.

Liman ruled that the women who counted ballots in Georgia during the 2020 election are also entitled to about $2 million in legal fees Giuliani claims the Trump campaign still owes him. Along with the apartment and legal fees, Giuliani had to give up several valuable items, such as watches given to him by European leaders after 9/11, a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey, and a 1980 Mercedes that belonged to actress Lauren Bacall. The court also directed him to turn over household items, including a television, jewelry, and furniture.

Michael Gottlieb, the lawyer representing Freeman and Moss, told CNN’s Erin Burnett that the ruling was a “necessary and key step in our clients’ ability to start to recover some of what has been taken away from them.”

“Today’s ruling, I think, is an example of how the justice system, even though it may take some time and even though it may take resolve and the courage of people like Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, will hold powerful people to account for these kinds of wrongs,” he added.
