With two rape lyrics now circling the web, Rich Homie Quan is aware that he has more apologizing to do. The first track, “I Made It,” ended up online in May, leading to an initial apology three weeks before a second song, “Day One,” leaked.

Between the two, the latter is the more lyrically disturbing. As the song opens, Quan raps: “Chances ain’t s**t if you don’t take one / Mansion full of b*****s, ‘bout to rape one.” 

He addressed the lyric in an interview with Billboard magazine, where he talked about his “Flex” single and why he didn’t sign to a major label. At the end of the short Q&A, Quan asserted that he does not support rape, despite his lyrics. “I do not condone or promote rape,” he said. “I’m not a rapist.”

While "Day One" made its way on the the ‘Net earlier this month, Quan says it’s three years old. “That song was recorded in December 2012,” explained the 25-year-old rapper.  

“I was young and just rapping,” he added. “At the time, I had no guidance in my life. I blame it on that. So I apologize once more to my fans.”
