The-Dream Debuts 'Ghetto' Clip With Big Sean
Following the release of his online album 1977, The-Dream has premiered a video for the single, "Ghetto."
"My Fans made 'Ghetto' the video," The-Dream tweeted on Monday (October 24) of the clip featured on Bossip. "I asked and they answered so this is for ya'll, love ya'll. This 1977 will always hold a special bond between us!'
Opening with the singer-songwriter riding down a country road in a red Georgia State, the clip splices together several locations. From a seafood store located in Atlanta's Bankhead neighborhood to a grocery store parking lot and a quaint house's front yard as little girls jump rope and turn cartwheels, The-Dream depicts down-home familiarity while equating that concept with affection.
"She say she miss riding it, I say I miss her on me holding it down," The-Dream sings. "I certainly miss how she grinds it, and she say she miss having me around."
Later, a lovely lady in a white dress appears to text The-Dream misty messages of the late night variety as the crooner narrates their conversation. Big Sean, who contributes a verse on "Ghetto," also pops by the clip.
"She want that real n---a on her wish list, used to blow me off now she trying to blow me kisses," the G.O.O.D. Music MC spits, in a fitted hat, tee, hooded sweat shirt and plenty of jewelry.
The-Dream's 1977 album hits the Internet in September.
