Trump Slammed For ‘Racist’ Comment That NFL Players Who Kneel Should Leave The Country
In a conversation with Fox & Friends, President Donald Trump not only voiced his support for the NFL’s new anthem policy to fine players who kneel, but he also went as far as to suggest those athletes, who are predominantly Black, "shouldn't be in the country at all."
In the NFL’s new policy, failing “to stand and show respect” for the flag and the anthem will result in a fine for a player’s team. Players will have the opportunity to remain the locker rooms during the anthem, yet any kneeling will be punished.
Based on Trump’s conversation with Fox News, the president believes the NFL’s choice to back him up is a win.
“Well, I think that’s good,” Trump told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade. “I don’t think people should be staying in the locker rooms, but I still think it’s good.”
“You have to stand proudly for the national anthem—or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there. Maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.”
