Longtime flames Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are finally sharing their love with the world in the February issue of Essence. In a beautiful cover shot, the two look like the epitome of Black love, which is ironic considering their rather turbulent relationship beginnings. For those unaware, the NBA baller and actress were embroiled in an alleged cheating scandal amidst Wade's nasty divorce proceedings with ex Siovaughn Wade.
With the bold move to cover one of our community’s most coveted magazines, fans wonder whether or not they’ll hear wedding bells soon. Wade says don't hold your breath. "We're not rushing it. Both of us have been married before, and we understand that if we choose to marry again, we want it to be right,” he tells the mag. “We both took failing at marriage hard. The next time it's gotta be forever.”
Some readers have already leaped on their soapboxes to slam Essence for its decision to feature the couple, much like the semi-cold reception for the covers featuring Alicia Keys with Swizz Beats and Sean “Diddy” Combs with Kim Porter.
