Charges Dismissed in Waka Flocka Flame Shooting

Prosecutors do not have enough evidence to continue the case against the men who shot at the rapper's tour bus.

The six men originally accused of shooting up Waka Flocka Flame's tour bus back in February will be released, as there is not enough evidence to prosecute them. All of the charges have been dismissed.

District Attorney Andrew Murray told The Charlotte Observer that the defendants, some of whom have felony records, were still in custody and the charges needed to be dismissed because of that. "That's why we need to dismiss the charges now," he said. "I'm not thrilled about having to dismiss these charges." Murray said that even though there was a shooting, there was still no evidence of a robbery.

The men were originally charged with attempted armed robbery, conspiracy and discharging a weapon into an occupied territory when the tour bus was shot at while Waka was having the audio system updated at Car Stereo Warehouse in East Charlotte, North Carolina. Waka was talking to fans in the parking lot at the time. One of the men involved in the robbery attempt was shot by Waka's security.
