Kanye Won: The #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty Was Too Lit

This felt like the party of the decade on Twitter.

Yesterday (July 13), Twitter kicked things off with the “#TaylorSwiftIsOverParty” hashtag. But as we’ve come to learn, Black Twitter stopped by the party and finished the job.

Let’s backtrack. It all started when a rep for Taylor Swift confirmed that she had actually co-written Calvin Harris’s latest hit featuring our darling Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For.”

Except the twist in that story is that originally Calvin’s co-writer was listed as “Nils Sjöberg.” After that news bite was leaked to the press, Calvin took to his Twitter account to verify that Swifty-poo was in fact the co-writer and elaborated even further by stating, “...initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym.” Before signing off, Taylor’s now ex-boyfriend Harris went in and read her with, “I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.”

This marks Taylor’s second scandal revolving around a song. Is Kim Kardashian psychic? It’s like Kanye shot a three-pointer without even being in the arena with this one.

Anyway, this whole scandal prompted the gloriousness of the “#TaylorSwiftIsOverParty” hashtag – glorious only because everyone showed up and turnt up. Check out some of the best everyone had to offer. – Jon Reyes
