Drake Wants Universal to Stop Taking His Songs Down
The internet has been excitedly buzzing about the recent leaks of some new Drake songs, most recently "Marvin's Room" and "Trust Issues." However Universal Motown, Drake's parent company and distributor, were not happy about the releases, so they quickly went through the web getting rid of as many of the free downloads as they could. Some of these links came directly from Drizzy's blog and he's not happy with their audio policing. He went on Twitter to fume:
"Universal needs to stop taking my f*cking songs down. I am doing this for the people, not for your label."
And perhaps Universal noted the buzz these leaks created? The fans may have gotten a few songs for free but in the bigger picture they got excited for the new album, Take Care, which is scheduled for release on Drake birthday, October 24.
We'll see if Drake continues to leak songs, but it looks like this bout left the corporation looking like the bad guy.
