In the wake of the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Harvey, Kevin Hart called on Hollywood's elite to offer support to the victims still attempting to weather the tropical storm. While Kev's philanthropy was mostly met with a positive reception, Master P didn't hesitate to criticize the price tag the comedian put on his relief efforts.

The rap mogul, however, is doubling back on his statements in light of the overwhelming backlash he faced on Wednesday (Aug. 30). 

Earlier this week, Kev took to social media to announce that he would be donating $25,000 to the victims of the tropical storm and called on Beyonce, T.I., Chris Brown, Chris Paul and countless others to match his donation. Within 48 hours, the comedian and company raised close to $1 million.

Master P, however, wasn't too impressed by the lofty challenge. “I’m blessed that Kevin Hart made a donation, but I feel like he don’t have to do that because it’s not necessary. A lot of people are going to do what they want to do — it’s their money," the No Limit CEO said.

Master P's comments, however, caught traction on social media with many fans questioning why the rap mogul would criticize Kevin's philanthropic efforts. After catching wind of the backlash, P took to Instagram on Thursday (Aug. 31) to clarify his initial statements. 

“Houston is my second home," he began his rant. "I’m probably one of the first to give and I gave a lot of money but I don’t need to sit around and talk about it, and I don’t need no celebrity to sit around and tell me what I need to do."

“Ten years from now we’re going to need these same celebrities. We don’t just need them one time," Master P said.
