‘Love & Hip Hop’ Star Apple Watts’ Sister Updates Fans On Her Condition, Amid Horrific Car Crash
Love & Hip Hop star April Watts is slowly on her road to recovery following a terrifying car accident that has caused her to be hospitalized since Mar. 2022.
According to an update on social media provided by her sister Dominique Flournoy, Watts is now alert and speaking.
“My sister is up and alert she understands and follows commands right now, she is in speech therapy so that her trachea can be removed. Therapy helps with speech and swallowing.” said Dominique on Tuesday (June 7). “She is also in physical therapy. She’s been trying to balance herself by sitting on the edge of the bed with her feet on the floor it’s a process.”
Flournoy says that Watts is still waiting to be transferred back to California.
On Mar. 23, the star from Season 5 of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood was traveling to Las Vegas from Los Angeles when her car and a Ford F250 truck collided. Watts suffered a fractured skull, a shattered arm, and a broken spine.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help Watts, and the “funds collected will help with medical and rehabilitation costs as well as support for her children during her healing process,” according to the official fundraiser link.
More than $10,000 has been donated to Watt’s GoFundMe with a goal of $35,000.
