Fruitvale Station Expands to More Cities
Fruitvale Station is one of the most talked-about films of the summer, and now audiences in 18 cities will have a chance to see what all the buzz is about. The critically acclaimed drama, about the last days of Oscar Grant III before the Bay Area youth was killed at point blank range by transit police officers, is opening in many cities this Friday, including Dallas, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Next week, the film will finally open nationwide.
Critics are calling Fruitvale Station, produced by The Weinstien Company in association with BET Films, a triumphant debut for director Ryan Coogler, a breakthrough role for star Michael B. Jordan and a sure shot for Oscar contention.
Audiences have found the film especially poignant given the recent verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman for the murder of Trayvon Martin.
